Rant: Wallflower

At a dark corner of a garden wall grew a little flower.
Deprived of warm sunlight all the flower's life.
Just the same as the lack of human love and attention it received.
Albeit small the flower was not repulsive in appearance.
With light shades of pink and white it grew up steady and strong.
But inconspicuous it was, and always invisible to most.

The little one lacked the elegance of roses, or the exotic seduction of orchids.
But a star quality it had added value to its potential in the dark.
A faint yet solid little star in the vast night sky it twinkled.

A dream the little one had, a dream it had.
The dream of one day, of someday it would be loved for.
Loved for itself, and not for being someone else.

But a dream it was, and a dream seemed too distant.
For beyond the wall the little one witnessed.
The dream came true for all but just never for the little.

As life had a time on earth, so the same for the little one.
Time was up and it could only wilt in regret.
A flower of longing on earth no more, dream and body all became dust.

Perhaps this was already written in the stars.
The fate of a wallflower rewritten it could not.
It's niche in this stinking society forever more.
